Every Triocolor Grand Drawing Pencil features cedar wood casing with a smooth, blue lacquer finish. They are easily sharpened with the larger hole of any two-hole sharpener.

I love drawing with these pencils. I can lay in the faintest layout lines and come back with dramatic opaque color. Shading is a breeze and the final effect is beautiful. In areas where color is heavy it's hard to overlay color, but you can scrape with a knife and go back in. Pencil shape is fabulous, but gosh they are hard to sharpen!
