Jacquard - Alum

Alum

Prime fabrics and paper for flawless marbling and natural dye work

Alum is used to pre-treat fabric or paper before marbling so designs transfer well. Alum is also used with some natural dyes as a mordant, a substance used in dyeing to fix the coloring matter, especially a metallic compound, as an oxide or hydroxide, that combines with the organic dye and forms an insoluble colored compound or lake in the fiber.
