Rit has been tie-dyeing clothing and d cor for decades. It s also the perfect tool to create an ombr , dip dyed, marbled or shibori pattern. It can even dye wood, wicker, paper and cork. Plus, because it is a pre-mixed concentrated liquid, you can use a little or a lot depending on your project and have the flexibility to save it for another time. Whether you are rescuing faded jeans, creating a costume, or decorating for a party, all you need is a washing machine, plastic container or stainless steel sink to get started. With 500+ color recipes, it is almost certain you ll find the right color for your needs. One bottle will color approximately 2 lbs. of dry fabric. Use double the quantity of dye for dark or bright colors such as black, navy blue, cocoa brown, purple, scarlet, etc. Use RIT Color Remover, in a 2 oz. box, to remove the existing color from fabric, giving you a dye-ready canvas for spectacular results and true color. It can also remove dye stains including color transfer in the laundry or to fix other dye mistakes. Use the 8 oz. liqiud RIT Fixative to reduce the fabric's colors from fading.
